Workplace Competency Assessments
Onsite Competency Assessments of Offshore Helideck Crews is a dependable method of determining if the operation of a specific helideck in this unique offshore environment is compliant and safe.
Designed to assess the proficiency of helideck teams, the scope of our workplace assessment encompasses all normal activities from pre-arrival checks & communications, deck security and helideck preparation, live handling (including refuelling if applicable), passenger and freight handling, through to pre & post departure. A live helideck emergency exercise involving facility personnel assesses the robustness of one element of the Emergency Response.
All assessments, aligned with OPITO standards & industry best practice, are conducted by fully qualified assessors with current certification and a wealth of helideck team knowledge gained globally. Bespoke assessments can be conducted in countries that do not recognise OPITO as an industry standard.
Offshore Helideck Crews include:
Helicopter Landing Officers (HLOs)
Helideck Assistants (HDAs)
Helideck Emergency Response Team Leader (HERTL)
Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM)
Helicopter Administrator (HOA)
Helicopter Refueller (if applicable)
Individuals who are assessed as meeting the competency requirements will receive a certificate. Additionally, our customers will receive a report on any findings that did not directly relate to an assessment such as issues with equipment or procedures that could not be satisfactorily addressed during the visit.
